Camp Clark is a kid's summer camp situated on Hyles Pond. Campers are offered activities from archery and a ropes course to hiking. The co-ed camp teaches specialty programs for dancers, theater arts performers, horseback riders and swimmers. Cabins are enclosed in a wooded setting and the facilities are operated by the YMCA.
Myles Standish State Forest is the largest publicly-owned park in Southeastern Massachusetts. The forst offers five camping areas along four of its 16 ponds. Myles Standish offers swimming, boating and camping. The Charge Pond camping area is set aside specifically for horse camping and College Pond offers picnicking, swimming, fishing and canoeing. A portion of the park is set aside for hunting. There are game birds and deer in the forest. Myles Standish has 15 miles of bicycle trails, 35 miles of equestrian trails and 13 miles of hiking trails. The park includes one of the largest contigious pine barrens morth of Long Island. Kettle ponds dot the landscape and the sensitive shore lines are off limits in many areas. Off-road vehicles are not allowed.
During the summer, park rangers lead a variety of hikes and walks for the whole family. Myles Standish's main office is located on the Carver side of the forest, but most of the forest is located within Plymouth.
Located in Plymouth just south of Downtown is the Indianhead Resort, open from April through October. Pitch your tent or park your camper minutes from the Cape Cod Canal. Sandy Pond offers more than 200 wooded and open sites offering privacy and solitude as well as level, full-hookup sites overlooking the second hole of the Atlantic Country Club. The season begins on April 15 and runs through October. Sandy Pond also offers a General Store and RV Repair service. There is free Wi-Fi.
Located on 25-acres in a beautiful pine forest between Long Pond and Round Pond in Plymouth is Pinewoods, a traditional dance and music camp. It features dance pavilions, rustic cabins, an open-air dining hall and a camphouse for most of the gatherings. Swimming is also available on the lakes and ponds.
Music sessions are held from June through September. They include both weekend and week-long sessions, and are for dancers and/or musicians with any level of experience.
