Established in 1916, Piggly Wiggly is a chain of over 600 self-service grocery stores across 17 states. Based in Antioch, Ill., it specializes in serving fresh fruits and vegetables, but also offers apparels, collectibles and novelties. The company was one of the first stores to use the self-service grocery shopping format. Further, Piggly Wiggly is an affiliate of C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc., which has been ranked as the 10th-largest privately held company in the nation by Forbes magazine in 2010.
