ALZETA Corporation was founded in 1982 in order to provide advanced, combustion-based products with high performance and the lowest pollutant emissions. Dr. Robert Kendall, the company s founder, launched ALZETA with technology rights to the Pyrocore ceramic, fiber matrix burner technology and a number of development and demonstration contracts with Gas Technology Institute. His team of experienced managers and combustion engineers focused on premix, surface combustion burner solutions to low NOx applications. The company s work led to the first commercial Pyrocore burner systems sale to Esso Canadas Strathcona refinery in Edmonton, Alberta in 1984. Sales into other applications soon followed which included residential heating products, commercial cooking, industrial hot water and steam generation and refinery process heating. Some of the company s major customers included: Amgen, Chevron, Kentucky Fried Chicken, LUZ International, PG&E, Rockwell and UNOCAL.
