Short's Burgers Eastside uses fresh, never frozen black Angus beef when putting together its burgers, which come in a variety of styles, such as "Thornton," "Cylinder," "Jackson Junction" and "Burnside." Other options include chicken sandwiches, soups and salads. Patrons may choose to have beer or wine to accentuate their meal; non-alcoholic beverages also are available, as is a kids' menu. Though the kitchen closes at 10 p.m., the restaurant is willing to stay open past that time to accommodate drinking patrons.
Shorts Burger and Shine located on Clinton Street has a fascinating history dating back to 1920. What started out as a shoe shine business has morphed into a thriving restaurant serving burgers and more. The menu offers numerous burgers, all made from fresh, local angus beef, chicken sandwiches, cheese fries and black bean burgers. The bar area offers at least one draft line devoted to local breweries.
