Foothill College educates a wide spectrum of the community, from undergraduates seeking two-year degrees to resuming students changing careers. Set on 122 hillside acres, Foothill College began winning architectural awards soon after its doors opened in 1961, including two from the American Institute of Architects. With 79 associate degree programs and 107 specialty certificate programs, the college has built a strong track record in dental hygiene, aviation repair and adaptive movement.

  In 2009, Foothill College students in paramedic, dental hygiene, dental assisting, pharmacy technician, and other health-professional programs achieved a 100 percent pass rate on state and national licensing exams.

Linden Tree Children's Books is located in downtown Los Altos. The store carries a wide selection of books, music and gifts for children—and books for adults as well. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and will help kids and adults find just the right thing. Special orders can be placed for products that are not in stock. Linden Tree also hosts events where kids can meet local authors and musicians.
