Albert Chavez is a second generation furniture builder from a family owned business that has been operating for over 30 years. Following his father’s footsteps Albert has now taken control with his own beautiful artistic take on modern rustic furniture and design 6 Plus Custom Furniture! We only use reclaimed wood that meet the 6 Plus Custom Furniture structural integrity standards. All refurbished pieces are removed of all impurities and defects, and replaced with high quality 6 Plus Custom Furniture Materials (including: stain, lacquer, nails, hinges, nuts and bolts, etc). Our furniture pieces are built to withstand both indoor and outdoor abuse. We handcraft our furniture with solid pieces of wood from start to finish. This helps to perfect our attention to detail for each and every piece or built-in for your Los Angeles home. We work hard to capture our customers true vision when creating a custom piece. No piece of furniture or custom built in is complete unless our clients are 100% satisfied with our work. We’re proud to have never had a customer refuse our service! Whitney Brush spent his childhood outside, enjoying all the fishing, surfing and sailing that the Vineyard has to offer. His passion for adventure brought him from one island to another, and when he was 18 he embarked on a solo trip to Bali in search of inspriation. It was there that Whitney realized the potential in bringing the beauty and design of this new island back home to the Vineyard. Over the next few years Whitney split his time between islands, commercial fishing on the Vineyard in the summer and designing and manufactiuring furniture from Indonesia in the winter – and this is how Island Imports was born. In 2005 Whitney completed the design of his first container of furniture. One container at a time, the wholesale business, Island Imports started to grow. Needing another outlet to grow the company, Whitney brought his wholesale line to long-time Island resident, and owner of Vineyard Decorators, John Parker, who had built the business and been running it since the 1970s. John was so impressed by Whitney’s potential that not only did he start carrying Island Imports, but offered Whitney an opportunity to buy out the Parker family from Vineyard Decorators. The Vineyard Decorators family expanded again when Whitney’s sister, Sophia Warren, returned to the Vineyard, at Whitney’s request, from her career running operations for a brand in Los Angeles to assist in running Vineyard Decorators. Vineyard Decorators has always been an Island family business. John Parker still works in our custom workroom as our custom upholstery master. A handful of our current team members have seen the business change and grow over as long as 30 years. Now, we offer a wide variety of interior design services, custom window treatments, custom upholstery services. We’ve grown to accommodate the Island’s largest selection of mattresses as well as diverse assortments of in-stock furniture and our hand-crafted line of furniture from Whitney’s trips abroad. We’re happy to help you find something in our shop or custom order you something to fit your individual needs.
