The pale blue walls inside are visually soothing and, if they prove to be insufficiently so, the proprietors (all Georgia natives) can offer complimentary booze to adult customers. A sales room, full of assorted grooming products arrayed on wooden shelves, separates customers entering or leaving from those occupying the barber chairs. This "buffering" also has a soothing effect, namely reducing the watchful waiting (How much longer can this guy be in the chair?) that strips away some of the pleasure a haircut can bring.
