Yes, there really was a Myrna. Well over 40 years ago, Myrna Conn-Kalkbrenner started Myrnas Catering to service Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas. She also developed a relationship with the Allegheny County Airport, providing catering to private charter aircrafts. In 1990, Myrna began thinking about retirement. Having worked hard over the years, she began her search for a manager who would uphold her outstanding reputation. That is when she found Tom Dunmyer, one of the present day owners of Mynass Catering. Tom is a graduate of Duquesne University with a degree in Business Management. In January of 1995, after working with Myrna for five years, Tom and Mary Lou were able to purchase Mynas Catering, Inc., and Myrna was able to retire with the knowledge they would own and operate the company with the same pride and dedication she had. In August of 2006, Tom and Mary Lous daughter, Carrie, joined the Mynas team. Carrie is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. Her degree is in Food Service Management with a concentration in International Hospitality Management.

Soldiers & Sailors is the largest memorial building in the United States dedicated solely to America s fighting personnel, representing all branches of service while honoring both the career and citizen soldier. Our mission is to preserve a lasting tribute to those men and women who unselfishly gave of themselves in serving their country during American wars. The American wars and the efforts of the people who fought them profoundly affected the lives of countless individuals both military and civilian. It is our vision to promote the understanding and appreciation of the accomplishments and sacrifice of the service men and women and their community. We must create a greater public awareness of the significance and holdings of the memorial through public relations, community activism and educational outreach programs. This torch, passed to us by those who came before us and created this memorial is ours to uphold. Soldiers & Sailors will remain a symbol for this great experiment in democracy.
