Mazzola Bakery & Cafe is a family-owned and operated business that offers daily fresh baked bread, pastries, and desserts as well as coffee and other beverages. A singular framed black and white photo of the bakery, labeled "1940," decorates the wall of the small cafe.
Despite its small size, the cafe's large glass case displays a multitude of cookies, cupcakes, and pies. The window features several varieties of freshly baked bread loaves. For those on the go, the cafe is a necessary coffee and bagel pitstop for morning commuters as well as the after-school crowd.
Mazzola Bakery is also a wholesale supplier to several local restaurants.
Established in 1904, Caputo's Bake Shop has spanned five generations of Caputo family history. The bakery has existed in a few locations through the years, but has always been in the Carroll Gardens area. The front window of the bakery showcases the various loaves of fresh bread, which are baked daily on the premises. The glass case features the multitude of desserts made here daily including traditional Italian cookies, cream pastries, pies and cakes.
