Pacificakes Bake Shop is a small boutique bakery which specializes in the creation of gourmet cupcakes and cookies, although it also makes pies, tarts and cakes. All ingredients used are free of preservatives; the bakery uses pure vanilla, real butter and fresh whole milk, and squeezes its own lemons. Pies and cakes are made by order only, but walk-in customers can buy cupcakes, cookies and cake pops during normal business hours. Pacificakes takes orders on Mondays and Tuesdays, with a minimum of $60 per order on these days. Customers buying two dozen or more cupcakes are encouraged to do so by order.

In business for 35 years, this bakery specializes in Italian cookies and pastries, including canolis, and they also serve a variety of doughnuts, pastries like cream puffs and croissants and cakes, including intricate wedding cakes. Best known for their Derby cake, a banana and strawberry creation, this bakery has a following of dedicated customers.

Maria Garza opened Pacific Java Cafe when she moved to Pacifica in 1993, and she has been an active member of the community ever since. Besides the full coffee menu, Pacific Java offers a variety of pastries, bagels, snacks and juices. There is plenty of seating inside or under the umbrellas out on the patio.
