The United States Parachute Association is a voluntary membership organization of individuals who enjoy the sport of skydiving. The purpose of the association is to promote safe skydiving, ensure skydiving's rightful place in the airspace system, and promote competition and record-setting programs.
The disAbility Resource Center in Fredricksburg provides a variety of services to members of the community living with disabilities of all types, both congenital and acquired, including hearing and vision loss, Down Syndrome, Autism spectrum disorders and much more. The center provides education and support for people with disabilities and their families, assistive technology, advocacy, independent living skills and peer counseling. Donations of gently used medical and assistive equipment are always welcome, as are volunteers.
Fredericksburg Masonic Lodge No. 4 is located in historic downtown on Princess Anne Street. This is one of the most historic lodges dating back to 1816, with recorded members since 1752. "Freemasonry is the oldest fraternal organzition in the world today" and this lodge is considered the "mother lodge of George Washington". Check out the website for monthly meetings and outings.
Fraternal Order of Eagles is a community organization that hosts bingo, children's activities and a number of private events each year. It also partners with a number of local charities in the Fredericksburg area. Annual membership dues are $30 per person and all new members must be sponsored by a current member.
The International Sign Association (ISA) is a trade association headquartered in Old Town Alexandria. ISA is located within a large office building at the corner of N. Fairfax Street and Canal Center Plaza. ISA members include manufacturers, users and suppliers of on-premise signs and other visual communications products. ISA supports the visual communications industry, "which sustains the nation's retail distribution, service and manufacturing industries," according to the association.
