Operational for over 50 years, Pennsylvania AAA Federation was formed as the Pennsylvania Motor Federation. Located in Harrisburg, Pa., it provides messenger services for AAA club member/nonmember driver license and motor vehicle transactions. The Pennsylvania Transportation Resource and Information Network ( PennTRAIN ) provides resources, training,.and technical assistance to public and community transportation systems throughout Pennsylvania. PennTRAIN was established in 1989 as part of the Pennsylvania Rural Technical Assistance Program ( RTAP ). Penn TRAIN is administered by the Pennsylvania Public Transportation Association and is jointly funded by the Pennsylvania Rural Transportation Assistance Program ( RTAP ) and The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Planning and Research Program. PennTRAIN Vision PennTRAINs mission is to enhance the professional skills of people who work in public transportation, to improve the safety and comfort of people who use public transportation and to improve the overall performance and image of public transportation in Pennsylvania. PennTRAIN accomplishes this mission by providing Pennsylvanias public transportation industry with access to the highest quality resources available, with professional training in convenient locations and with technical assistance based on proven methods and innovative techniques. Anyone working in public or community transportation may use PennTRAINs services. Rural, urban, fixed route, shared ride public services or private transportation companies working for public entities are encouraged to participate in PennTRAIN programs.
