Founded in 1963, the National Maritime Historical Society has been educating the public about our nation's vast maritime heritage for more than 50 years. Its national headquarters can be found at 5 John Walsh Boulevard on the bottom floor of the same building that houses Crystal Bay Seafood & Company. A brand new, state-of-the-art Peekskill Middle School was opened in 2009 on Ringgold Avenue. The school's approximately 600 students have access to Wi-Fi throughout the building. Each team has its own wing and every grade is assigned its own guidance counselor. The school also has a pool and passing the swimming test is a requirement for graduation. The school offers a Learning Enrichment Activities Program (LEAP) component as well, which encourages learning in a project environment.

Westchester Jewish Community Services is a non-profit organization that has been serving Southeastern New York since 1943.  Its main headquarters can be found in White Plains, but its Peekskill branch is located in the New Crossroads Plaza. Adult services consist of home care, mental health and counseling services as well as abuse and violence prevention.
