The Alpha Tao Omega Fraternity House, located on Emory University's main campus, is one of its oldest fraternity houses. The fraternity is committed to serving the university and neighboring communities by participating in a variety of community service and outreach projects. A large and luxurious space with a fully equipped kitchen, living room, dining room and several bedrooms, the Alpha Tao Omega house is used as lodging for conferences during the summer break months.
Headed by Sam Massell, the "Mayor of Buckhead," the Buckhead Coalition is Buckhead's leading civic and economic booster. A former mayor of Atlanta, Massell leads an ambitious program that funds neighborhood projects and supports businesses. The coalition publishes the annual Buckhead guidebook, which is frequently updated online.
The historic American Legion Post first served World War I and Spanish American War veterans. Now its membership is growing among veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. This post no longer rents out its building for parties and other events. A Ladies Auxiliary is open to community women, no matter whether they served in the military. The building overlooks North Fulton Golf Course in Chastain Park.
