Founded in 1946 as Holyoke Junior College, Holyoke Community College enrolls more than 9,000 students annually. It offers over 75 associate degree options and nearly 40 certificate programs. The college provides adult basic education programs, as well as training sessions for various businesses and industries. It offers a variety of noncredit community service and coordinated studies programs. Holyoke Community College provides courses in a variety of subjects, such as arts, science, criminal justice, music, sports administration, marketing management and liberal studies. Additionally, it maintains laboratories and athletic and recreation centers. The college offers small-sized and personalized classes, as well as organizes various cultural activities. It is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and is a member of the American Association of Community College Council.
