Located in the heart of downtown San Francisco, just a block off Union Square, is one brand of E&O Trading Company, a Southeast Asian Grill. E&O Trading Company was originally inspired by a legendary friendship between an English trader and an Indonesian spice merchant. The flagship restaurant opened in the heart of San Francisco s Union Square district in 1997. In its first year of operations, this restaurant was named as one of the top 10 new restaurants of 1997 by the San Francisco Chronicle s Michael Bauer and was featured in Gourmet Magazine. Critics have tagged the E&O as the Trader Vic s of the 90 s, recognizing the restaurant s unique combination of scripted environment and innovative cuisine. Since then, E&O has grown on the merits of its unique menu, consistently great food and inviting atmosphere. Convenient parking for the San Francisco location, is available at the Sutter-Stockton garage.
