Located in Ogden, Utah, Union Station is home to four different museums and two galleries dedicated to the history of railroad in Utah as well as artifacts depicting life of the American West. Kids will especially enjoy Union Station and the interactive displays make it an especially enjoyable place for parents looking for a low-key summertime activity.

Admission to Union Station
While not free, the low-priced admission fee of around $5 per person includes access to all four museums, including the Utah State Railroad Museum, the John M. Browning Firearms Museum, the Browning-Kimball Classic Car Museum, and the Utah Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.

Parking and Public Transportation to Union Station
There is plenty of free and accessible parking in front of the station. If you are coming from Salt Lake City or even further south, however, the station is just east of one of the final Utah Transit Authority Frontrunner train stops. It is then an easy walk from the Frontrunner station down to Union Station.

Food at Union Station
There are no food options inside Union Station; however, downtown Ogden boasts plenty of food options located just two or three blocks to the east. Options range from fast food to local pubs and pizza joints, all for about $8 to $10 a person. The Frontrunner station next door also features a small diner that not only sells sandwiches and the like, but also offers handheld fare like muffins and bagels.

Insider Tip for Visitors to Union Station
If you finish your visit to Union Station around lunchtime and are feeling adventurous, walk three blocks east until you get to City Hall Park where taco trucks congregate. Wednesdays, the trucks offer two tacos for $1. Be sure to go to the taco truck situated on Washington Boulevard close to 26th Street. It has the longest line but is worth the wait.
