Founded in 1962, The Juneau Symphony began as a community orchestra with a volunteer conductor and players. Located in Juneau, Alaska, it is one of the largest orchestras in southeast Alaska. The company performs four main stage concerts each year. Moreover, The Juneau Symphony supports numerous youth programs, including the Student Symphony, Youth Solo Competition, Music in the Schools and Kids2Concerts. Some of its current seasons include Maestros FAVORITES, The Resurrection, The Planets, Symphony Showcase and The Symphony at the Movies, to name a few.
