James Barclay Associates is an architectural and interior design firm that specializes in quality designs for corporations, institutions and health care facilities. The firm was founded in 1980 by James A. Barclay, who received his graduate degree in Architecture from Columbia University School of Architecture in New York. He currently holds licenses to practice architecture in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania and is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. Numerous clients such as the United Nations, General Electric and Southwest Airlines have made use of our unique abilities in CAD (Computer Aided Design) and an "in-house" program developed to interactively tie databases to the design process. This has been very useful for "Fast Track" projects where inventory control, cost and speed are essential. Fortune Magazine consulted with the firm to produce a series of articles titled, "Working Smarter" dealing with the office of the future. The firm specializes in both new construction and interior design. As the United Nations Development Programme Headquarters Consulting Architects, the firm designed and/or assisted in establishing UN Headquarters in several member countries worldwide (see client list). James Barclay Associates has established a consistent record of developing and implementing long range goals for domestic and international clients. These successfully completed projects achieve functional and budgetary goals while visually enhancing the clients working environment. Great design begins with a comprehensive Space Program and a strong concept. The successful integration of the functional and spatial requirements as detailed in the Space Program serve to produce an efficient and aesthetically successful result. To aid clients in assessing the most appropriate design solution, our Computer Aided Design system is used in both two and three dimensions to illustrate the design solution.
