Not too far from the hustle and bustle of the intersection of Route 83 and St. Charles Road, at the corner of West Avenue and Surf Street, is a quiet little refuge called Ben Allison Park. The park, developed in 1950, was named in honor of a former Elmhurst mayor who served from 1957 to 1961. The park includes a picnic area, playground equipment, a baseball diamond and a small sled hill.
Mayan Adventure Indoor Waterpark offers a great place to go for fun any time of year. The water park is located inside of Elmhurst's Holiday Inn, which offers a full bar and restaurant, as well as room service, a spa and a gym for guests. The water park is open 7 days a week and has a water slide, a lazy river, basketball hoops and more.
