In February 2004, Lorie Wilson and Kelly Phipps opened the doors of InnerWorks Holistic Heath Center, LLC as an evolving service-based organization devoted to physical, emotional and spiritual health and growth. This labor of love was the culmination of several years of discussion regarding the need for a truly integrative approach to wellness and dis-ease. Supported by a committed group of like-minded colleagues, InnerWorks has doubled its staff and added a variety of services that support our Integral Model. That health care reform starts with us as individuals and that dynamic healthy living requires balance, growth and nurturing in many dimensions. Promoting health at InnerWorks is a participatory process by client and therapist alike that benefits from a variety of services offered within a coordinated framework. As we begin to replace the scientific view of illness care and prevention of the 20th century with a more holistic and integrated approach, we begin to understand there are many facets of an individual that define and influence their health. The portal to health for one person may not be the same for the next, and we as practitioners must be diligent in searching for the most appropriate and therapeutic approaches. That part of our responsibility at InnerWorks is to educate you about what it truly means to be healthy and live healthy. Our goal is to empower you to make healthy decisions by combining the wisdom of alternative and complementary medicine along with the knowledge gained from scientific medicine. Our unique approach to health and wellness is rooted in our core belief of wholeness and in recognizing that the path to wholeness is not the same for everyone. When is it appropriate to use alternative versus western medicine approaches? How are you best served in combining them for the best outcome? We listen to your belief system and philosophy toward your health to devise a plan that addresses all aspects of your being and your health. Each practitioner is highly skilled in their field of expertise and is dedicated to working along with their peers to provide complete care for the clients they serve. That understanding the mental, emotional and spiritual along with the physical aspects of self and how they impact your health, your ability to fully embrace life and achieve your highest potential is integral to holistic health. The InnerWorks staff embraces these beliefs through our work with you, integrating their areas of expertise as we work collaboratively to address all aspects of your health and journey to wholeness. An important part of our approach includes teaching self care techniques and offering educational opportunities to learn how to manage your own well-being and sustain a healthy lifestyle. Establishing an environment where the practitioners embody a spirit of health, as much for themselves as for their clients, provides a solid foundation for facilitating access and understanding a multi-disciplinary philosophy. Recognizing that the stages of a healing journey take on many forms, we must be able to address the spectrum of health, fitness, growth, pain, disease and trauma recovery.
