There are approximately 27,000 people who are living with HIV/AIDS in Georgia, qualifying the state as the eighth most affected in the United States. AID Atlanta is a nonprofit, community-based AIDS services organization that provides education and support services to individuals infected and affected by the HIV epidemic. The organization offers HIV testing, partner notification and counseling services, prevention case management, STD information and referrals for additional screening and case management for eligible HIV positive clients. Its Joye Bradley Health Services Unit offers treatment for HIV positive men and women. AID Atlanta was founded in 1982 and is one of the largest AIDS service organizations in the Southeast United States.
