Nancy Hurwitz Kors, Ph.D, is the head of Adoption Facilitation Services, a private organization based in Walnut Creek. It works with pregnant women who are looking for adoptive parents for their babies, and families who are looking to adopt. She brings them together and works out adoption plans.
Pregnancy Resource Center provides pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, adoption counseling and referrals, childbirth classes, parenting education and other free and confidential resources. The center is located across the street from Dominican Hospital and walk-ins are welcome. An emergency help line is available 24 hours a day.
Five Acres is a non profit organization offering a wide array of services to the community. These include adoption, foster care, mental health counseling services for individuals, families and schools, deaf services and assistance for victims of domestic violence.
