City of Orange Beach Department of Community Development has two separate divisions: the planning and building. The planning division processes development permit applications for site plan review, subdivisions, land rezoning, planned unit developments, variances, temporary portable buildings as well as special events. The building division accepts applications for new construction, reviewing plans for compliance with the Zoning Ordinance/building codes and issuing building permits, among others. It is a part of the City of Orange Beach.
