Founded in 1963, Merwin Elementary School provides education to more than 400 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Its academic curriculum includes reading, mathematics, science, physical education and social studies. The school has a library and media center, as well as a parent-teacher association. Merwin Elementary School offers meal and health screening services. The school also organizes various events for parents and community members. It is governed by the Covina-Valley Unified School District, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools that provide academic education to students in kindergarten through grade 12.
