MacArthur Elementary School provides educational opportunities to students in kindergarten through grade five. Established in 1951 the school offers academic curriculum in math, English and computers. It has more than 90 faculty members and support staff, including a speech pathologist, counselor, social worker, nurse, MacArthur Elementary School enrolls over 800 students and provides classes related to physical education, art and music. The school has a library that offers various types of books and reference and reading materials. Its cafeteria serves milk, eggs, juices, cookies, fruits, sandwiches, cookies and ice cream. Additionally, MacArthur Elementary School encourages the participation of parents in school activities through a parent teacher organization. It organizes various events, such as Independence Day, father s day and conferences. The school is located in Galena Park, Texas, and is a part of the Galena Park Independent School District, which operates various elementary, middle and high schools.
