Dr. Jacqueline Brunetti has been the medical director of Holy Name Medical Center’s Department of Radiology since 2002. She is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology with Special Competence in Nuclear Radiology and by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine. Now the standard of care, her pioneering work at Holy Name in the development and implementation of PETCT in radiation therapy treatment planning and PETCT- directed respiratory gated radiotherapy received international recognition. An Associate Clinical Professor of Radiology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons since 2003, Dr. Brunetti has participated in numerous grant-supported research projects and presentations, in addition to being widely published. She has served as consultant to the Radiologic Devices Panel, the Panel of Medical Devices Advisory Committee and the Center of Devices of Radiologic Health of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration since 1995. She is a member of the Editorial Board of Molecular Imaging and Biology; the American College of Radiology Credentialing Committee for Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT; and is an elected member of the PET Task Force, PET Center of Excellence and Society of Nuclear Medicine, among many other positions. Dr. Brunetti is an airplane pilot who also is a senior aviation medical examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration. She provides wellness exams to commercial pilots, regularly making recommendations regarding sleep, exercise, stress reduction and nutrition to assure the pilots’ continued optimum health. Vitally interested in the mind/body connection, Dr. Brunetti is completing a Fellowship at the Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. Recognizing the role that stress plays in disease, she emphasizes the importance of proper nutrition as well as hope and optimism to a patient fighting disease.
