Established in 1966, The Heart of Texas Council of Governments is an organization of local governments. It has a membership of more than 80 governments, including counties, cities, school districts and community colleges. The organization offers a range of area development planning, reviewing and implementation services. The Heart of Texas Council of Governments also provides grant services from federal and state programs. The organization provides solid waste treatment, criminal justice and economic development solutions.
