Founded in 1899, the Grayslake Fire Protection District provides fire protection, suppression and prevention services. It offers emergency medical and public education services. The department also provides basic and advanced life support services. The Grayslake Fire Protection District offers dispatch services and a range of fire suppression equipment. In addition, it operates a fire prevention bureau that specializes in fire inspection, investigation and emergency planning services. The department provides a fire and fall prevention program for senior citizens. The Grayslake Fire Protection District has a staff of more than 20 full-time individuals. It serves individuals in Grayscale, Wildwood Third Lake and Highland Lake communities in Illinois.
