Founded in 1912, the Florence Family YMCA is a charitable organization that serves more than 5,500 members, including children, adults and families. The organization is one of the premier community service agencies in Pee Dee in South Carolina. It coordinates swimming, fitness and leadership programs for men, women and children. The organization operates a child care center and mini gymnasium. The Florence Family YMCA also administers after-school programs for students in kindergarten through grade six. It conducts aerobic and aquatic classes, as well as organizes summer camps. The organization offers a variety of sports activities, including soccer, basketball, volleyball and football. In addition, the Florence Family YMCA provides financial assistance to families and individuals in need.
