Jones Beach State Park has been a prime Long Island tourist sight and local destination since 1929, when storied planner Robert Moses created the park. The park features a beautiful beach overlooking Zach's Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. The boardwalk at Jones Beach has something for everyone, including restaurants, ice cream shops, miniature golf, pitch and putt golf course, volleyball and tennis courts and more. A large public swimming pool is also an option when at Jones Beach, along with a huge playground for kids. The Nikon Theater at Jones Beach is a very popular attraction for people from all over New York during the summer, featuring concerts and live acts all summer long. Free concerts are given at the boardwalk on different weeknights as well. Park Information is also located on the boardwalk next to the gift shop. Public transportation conveniently runs to and from the beach daily.
