The first-ever Family Dollar store opened in 1959. Today, a half-century later, Family Dollar Stores can be found in almost every state, including the North Colony Road location, in the Holiday Cinema Plaza. This Family Dollar store carries some grocery items, candy, cleaning and household supplies, housewares, cards, gift wrap, toiletries and gifts, as well as seasonal items for special occasions such as Halloween, Christmas, New Year's and graduations.
