Community Youth Services is a United-Way supported, private, nonprofit social service agency. The agency, chartered in 1970, was founded for the purpose of assessing youth needs and developing responsive and innovative programs to meet those needs. CYS offers a variety of programs that serve nearly four thousand children, teens, and families in the South Sound area each year. It offers various special programs, such as AmeriCorps Youth in Service, Readiness to Learn, AmeriCorps Washington Reading Corp, Career TREK and Choice for Change. CYS is approved by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children. It is located in Olympia, Wash.
