Chicod Elementary School provides academic instruction to students in kindergarten through grade eight. It has a library media center that provides access to various Internet resources, books, magazines and newspapers to stimulate the intellectual development of students and staff. Chicod Elementary School provides additional support to students through after-school tests and skills recovery sessions. The school offers educational classes in art, reading, creative writing, math, science, social studies, computer applications, music, and health and physical education. In addition, it has a cafeteria that provides food services to students. It is a part of Pitt County Schools, which operates through several elementary, middle and high schools.
