Alan B. Shepard High School, located in Palos Heights, Ill., offers a college preparatory curriculum to more than 1,800 students from grades nine through 12. Its courses include English, social studies, mathematics, science, physical education and computer science. It offers an academic program that includes technical school preparation, honors, college preparation, advanced placement, and international baccalaureate. Electives on campus and at its applied technology center allow students to explore a wide range of personal interests and career-related goals. Students are also encouraged to participate in its extracurricular opportunities in athletics, music, art, honor societies, clubs and service organizations. The school offers various sports, including swimming, cheerleading, football and track. It is a part of the Community High School District.
