Palomar Pomerado Laboratory Services is a part of the Palomar Medical Center and is located in Escondido, Calif. It processes more than 1,500 specimens of blood, body fluid, and tissue biopsies per day for hospital patients, outpatients and physician office clients. The laboratory has more than 200 staff members who serve over 300 local physicians, clinics and health care facilities. It offers clinical diagnostic and anatomic pathology consultation services. The laboratory reports critical values 24 hours a day in accordance with federal regulations. Palomar Pomerado Laboratory Services also provides hormone and drug screening services. Additionally, the laboratory provides phlebotomy services at several local long-term care and skilled nursing facilities.
