Beautiful historic Sunset Farms is situated on nearly 200 acres of preserved land off Pt. Judith Road in Narragansett, which also includes the landmark Kinney Bungalow. Francis S. Kinney, tobacco and real estate millionaire,built the East Indian-style bungalow in 1899 to host parties for his daughter, Frances, and also as a place to gather following polo matches. Following Kinney's death, Sunset Farms was sold to the Chase/Ewing family, where Lucia Chase Ewing, co-founder of theAmerican Ballet Theater, used the bungalow as a summer rehearsal site. In 1991, Sunset Farms and the bungalow was acquired by the Town ofNarragansettLand Conservancy and Trust, andfollowing major renovations, it was opened to the public in 2002 for weddings and other private functions. A farmers' market is held at Sunset Farms during summer months, and the public is welcome to come and visitApril - Novemberand enjoy the spectacular grounds.
