The Hibbing Police Department works to provide safety and security and protect lives and property through crime prevention and law enforcement. It is comprised of more than 30 police officers and support staff. The department hosts various community-oriented programs, such as bicycle patrol, operation identification, vacation house check and predatory offenders programs, as well as employs a community liaison officer. The Hibbing Police Department supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is a classroom program that helps to prevent drug abuse and violence among children. It maintains a sex offender registry and enforces traffic and parking laws. The department is located in Hibbing, Minn.
