Ellington Congregational Church is a warm, caring community of faithful people. Many of the members have been members for years, but new members are welcomed and embraced warmly. The church offers many programs for its members, such as age-specific youth groups, dance groups and choruses. The high school youth group takes a mission trip every year, in addition to being active in the community year-round. There are programs for adults, including fellowship groups and other groups that target the members' interests. Weddings, funerals, baptisms and many more special events are held at the church. Ellington Congregational Church owns the town green across from its church building. The green is used for some church services during the summer. High school students use the green for can and bottle drives and prom photos. The gazebo on the green may be rented for weddings.
